Miller Road Scan, Mill Valley, CA

Construction on this 3/4 mile project was delayed because of large amounts of concrete found during excavation belonging to the historic road that was paved over years ago.  Three other companies were called out before us and were unsuccessful in determining the limits of the concrete.  We utilized our 40 antenna tow behind GPR to scan the road surface and were able to identify the limits of the concrete under the paved road.  These areas also included depths for the engineer and contractor to plan accordingly and were confirmed with vacuum excavation prior to resuming construction.  This survey was performed in the early morning to avoid traffic congestion and was accomplished with rolling traffic control eliminating the need for lane closures.  This project was also highlighted at Hexagon Live in 2017, in Las Vegas, along with IDS North America.
